When Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, came to New Zealand, Make All Media was chosen to work alongside his trip, providing specialist video and audio services.
First we had to design and animate a series of conference graphics to introduce Satya and other speakers during the day. These animated graphics had to be designed to brand guidelines, while also having some flare and excellence to enforce the themes of the day.
Next we had to provide several video options for the day, including a x2 camera mix of the event itself. This had to be edited onsite and recorded for later editing purposes.
We also had to provide a 'highlights' camera operator who could travel with Satya and record the key moments of his trip around Auckland.
Next we had to record, via audio, every speech he made. This audio had to be bounced down on site, compressed to MP3 and uploaded to the cloud within an hour of his speech. To do this we recorded the audio on a separate audio mixer and our technician engineer then took the audio as a separate file and uploaded it for the client.
Then we provided editing services post-event to produce a highlights video of Satya's visit, with animated graphics and live video spliced together with a great backing track.
The event was a success and we look forward to having Satya back to New Zealand again.
The United Nations Conference on Small Island Developing States in Apia, Samoa was the biggest conference in the Pacific with over 3,000 delegates from 100's of countries coming together for four days of meetings.
When the UN were looking for a international-standard broadcast supplier in the Pacific that could facilitate this event, they chose Make All Media.
We were tasked with the consultation and execution of the broadcast and audio/visual services for:
Make All Media shipped a 20" container of AV gear to Samoa, we employed and/or oversaw 30+ staff, we worked within strict Government and UN protocols, we implemented international standards of quality control, and we worked across three conference halls, five outbreak rooms, a live streaming server and a media centre simultaneously, with equipment ranging from 15 video cameras, shooting over 200 hours of footage, breaking out audio and video signals to 80 international journalists over four days.
Plenary 1 and 2 - full PA system installation and operation, full lighting design and installation and implementation for broadcast-quality lighting states, full IMAG installation and operation, with PowerPoint and visual media capability, oversight of full five camera mix for IMAG, record, and live streaming.
Broadcast Control Room - fibre to SDI Matrox system for record, outbreak and live stream of two conference rooms and Press Briefing Room.
Media Centre with break out boxes for up to 80 international journalists, which included SDI, SD, and audio capability as well as screens to cover events.
UN Edit Suite, where we had a camera team shooting and editing interviews and news reel clips for the UN web site, working with producers from New York.
In the process, our technical team practically rewrote the spec for the United Nations around international broadcast implementation and execution.
We have thus streamlined a process of conference execution that can be utilised anywhere in Asia-Pacific.

We consult internationally for Governments and global corporations around media and broadcast services. If you need information or strategy on media planning, video, TVCs, streaming of conferences, fibre and bandwidth problem solving, post production, then talk to us.
We have added communications to our international scope of work. We worked with the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) on a communications contract for their visibility plan in March/April 2015. This group is funded by the EU and it is important that they increase their visibility in the Pacific region. We worked in partnership with Stanley from the Melanesian Business Magazine to provide a full communications service, from photography and videographery of the event, to media advisory letters and press releases (view an example). These documents were then sent to local and regional newspapers and TV stations to highlight the latest round of talks.
We had good uptake from the region and produced a total number of 79 assets for the MSG visibility profile in one week of work, a great effort. If you would like come communications work done in your media department, please let us know
